RICHARD FORD was born in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1944, and raised there
and in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is the author of 5 novels, 3
collections of stories and numerous essays. His fiction, which is set
virtually all over the American landscape (New Jersey, Montana, New
Orleans, Chicago, Michigan, Maine) has appeared regularly in The New
Yorker, and in past years in Esquire, and has been awarded the
PEN-Faulkner Award, The Award for Merit in the Novel by the American
Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Pulitzer Prize.
Richard Ford is married to Kristina Ford. They have no children. They
maintain residences in New Orleans, Montana and in Maine.
