Each poet comes to the stage, reads one of his or her own "breakthrough" poems, sits down. (A "breakthrough" poem is one that either changed the way the poet worked, changed her work, changed the reader's understanding, changed poetics--the emphasis on how "the beautiful" changed in the poet's work)

Then a dialog:

How do you understand the poem?
What do you want the reader to feel?
Where did the poem come from?
How did it take form?
How did it change in its development?
Influences?
Relationship to body of work?
Surprises?
Delights?


(Poems will be circulated to other panel poets in advance for questions, reflections)
