The United States has always been a nation of immigrants, and our language, culture and literature have been constantly altered and revitalized by an influx of new voices and new visions from other shores. At one time or another, this country has become a new home to almost all of the world's peoples, and we have become (and are becoming) a new people in the process.

Our 22nd Annual Key West Literary Seminar will explore what it means to cross the border from there to here, what it means to claim a new home, a new language, and how the immigrant voice and experience have transformed our literature and life. For this Seminar, we will bring together an exciting mixture of U.S. writers whose work speaks to the immigrant experience, and immigrant writers who have settled in this country from around the globe, staking out a new literary terrain, giving life to a new language and a new literature.

ENJOY four days of panel discussions, talks, readings, exhibits, book signings, writers' workshops, glorious tropical weather and fabled Key West parties in America's best loved island paradise.
